With home riders occupying the top three positions in the 2026 FIM Flat Track World Championship, the series travels to Great Britain this coming Saturday (29 August) for round six at King’s Lynn, around one-hundred-and-seventy kilometres north east of London.

Last visited in 2024 when Sammy Halbert (Picasso Engineering) won on his way to the title, this time around the American star has dropped off the pace and will be aiming to reassert himself, but the home fan focus will undoubtedly centre on Tim Neave (Ducati – VRX Dirt Store Ducati), his team-mate Ashton Boughen and Jack Bell (Triumph) who currently fill the championship podium positions.

Winner last time out at Scheessel, twenty-two-year-old Bell is full of confidence heading into his home round in the Adrian Flux Arena and looking to carry across his momentum from Germany as he attempts to reduce the eighteen-point deficit to series leader Neave who in turn has a five-point cushion ahead of Boughen.

Out of the rounds staged so far, between them the British trio have won all five – with Neave and Boughen winning two apiece – and the international chasing pack will be determined to end this win-streak with no shortage of contenders for the top step of the podium.

After the super-fast one-thousand-metre Scheessel circuit, King’s Lynn – at three-hundred-and-forty-two metres in length – presents a very different type of challenge that will undoubtedly suit some riders and their machines more than others.
Currently fourth, just six points adrift of Bell, 2022 champion Gerard Bailo (Zaeta) is enjoying a solid season and has made every Final so far with back-to-back second-placed finishes at the opening two rounds, although the Spaniard needs to pick up the pace if he is to remain in contention when the extended ten-round series signs off with a double date in Argentina in October.

Defending and two-time champion Ervin Krajčovič (KTM Schruf – Zucco Racing) is a point behind Bailo and still very much in contention, although the Czech racer has struggled with consistency this season and while he needs to gain back points on the leaders, he must also be aware of the threat from riders behind him in the points, currently led by his team-mate and compatriot Ondřej Svědík.

Svědík knows what it takes to win in Great Britain, having taken his only career victory in Manchester in 2023, as does Halbert – a former American Motorcyclist Association Grand National Champion and X-Games gold medallist – who missed the opening round of the 2026 championship and struggled last time out to twentieth, his lowest finish since he joined the series in 2023.

With strong performances also expected from riders including the Ukraine’s Stanislav Ohorodnik (Husqvarna) and Italian Daniele Tonelli (TM – Donelli’s Garage), another rider who struggled at Scheessel, along with a strong contingent of other British hopefuls led by Gary Birtwistle (Dirt Craft powered by Royal Enfield) and talented teen Thomas Hunt (Yamaha), fans can expect plenty of action as the series moves into the second half of the season.

The action from the Adrian Flux Arena is scheduled to get under way with the opening Heat at 19:00 (local time).
